Opening and Closing Notes on the AFS (Desktop)

What it is: A quick technique for showing or hiding individual disclosure notes on the Annual Financial Statements by expanding or collapsing their grouping, with note numbers updating automatically.

What it's for

Not all notes apply to every client. When a note is not required for the current engagement, it can be hidden by collapsing its group — the remaining notes renumber themselves automatically, so the AFS looks clean and sequential without any manual editing. The note data is preserved and can be revealed again at any time.

How to do it

Hide a note (close)

  1. Locate the note on the AFS.
  2. Collapse the note's grouping (click the collapse control on the left side of the row grouping).
  3. The note disappears from view and all remaining note numbers update automatically.

Show a note (open)

  1. Find the collapsed grouping for the note you want to display.
  2. Expand the grouping by clicking the expand control.
  3. The note reappears and note numbers update automatically.
